Charles Culver

Charles Frank Culver
(April 26, 1950 - July 2, 2015)

The family of Charles Frank Culver, 65, of Sugar Land, TX, will celebrate his life in a private service on Friday, July 10, 2015.

Charles was born April 26, 1950, in Abilene, TX, to Thomas R. Culver, Jr., and Betty Lilian Pierson Culver. He died July 2, 2015, at his home in Sugar Land, TX. Growing up, Charley was the second oldest of the four "burr-headed Culver boys!" While in high school, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts. He was a 1968 graduate of Cooper High School in Abilene, TX, and he received both his BBA and MBA from Baylor University, where he was an active member of the Kappa Omega Tau Fraternity. Early in his banking career, he was Vice President at Southern National Bank. He then worked for many years as Financial Advisor to the President of Central Ford and Southern Ford auto dealerships. He retired in March of 2015.

Charley's sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. We are secure in the knowledge that he is celebrating today with his Savior, Jesus Christ, and a host of family and friends who have gone before him. We know he will be waiting to see us again.

Charley was preceded in death by his parents; and by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas R. Culver, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Murphy, all of Abilene, TX.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Cameron Culver, M.D. and wife, Tiffany, of Dallas, TX, and Clayton Culver of Houston, TX; 2 grandchildren who knew him as "Grandpa Charley", Fields James Culver and Finley Jeanne Culver, of Dallas, TX; longtime girlfriend, Shelly Brigham of Sugar Land, TX, and her children, Sonni Brigham and Shawn Marsilio, and grandchildren who knew him as "Papa Charley", Mikayla and Damian; 3 brothers, Judge Thomas R. I last spoke to Charles at our 40th CHS reunion. I remember him as a friend and classmate at Cooper. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. I will be praying for the family. Rest in peace, Charles.

Charlie was a great teammate at Cooper and classmate and Baylor.....funny, always with a smile, and with such special qualities for his capacity for friendship.....

He will be missed, but his legacy of accomplishment will abound.....we love you Charlie.

Charles and I were cub scouts and boy scouts together..same troup.  Played little league and pony league together.  It hurts to see him pass.  One of the best persons you would ever want to know.
